God is My Teacher

Father was worried about 11-year-old Anurodh. Even though the boy had finished seventh grade, he had barely passed each class. He couldn’t read a word in English, only the Hindi language.

Father noticed that the Seventh-day Adventist pastor in their hometown, Ghazipur, had two children getting top marks at the Adventist boarding school in Varanasi, 35 miles (60 kilometers) away.

“My son is doing poorly,” Father told the pastor. “He doesn’t care about school.”

Lion in the House!

Gulam Masih had many questions about God.

As a boy, he went with his father to religious services two different days of the week. One day, Father took him to the family’s traditional place of worship, and on Sundays Father took him to various Christian churches.

Father couldn’t decide who to worship. Once while reading the family’s holy book, he exclaimed, “It seems that Jesus is mentioned in this book more times than our own prophet! Why is that?”
